Junk

In keeping with my weekly submission to
Inspiration Flirtation, I present JUNK!
This is photo of a box containing my latest acquisitions.

This is a photo of a creation made from my box of JUNK.
This the second "tear down" piece that I have submitted to
Inspiration Flirtation.
That is, I create it, photograph it, and then tear it down,
to use the components again.
I'm liking this way of creating art. It's in the moment,
and I don't have to decide what to do with it when finished.

6 by 6 - Hybiscus

I've been tagged by Christy of Inspiration Flirtation. The tag is to take part in the 6 by 6 game.

RULES:
Choose the 6th image out of your 6th picture folder from your computer and blog it. Then tag 6 more people to do the same.

So, here is the 6th photo in my 6th album:

This was taken on the side porch of my mother's house in Diamondville, PA.

Stitches

This is my submission for "stitches" on http://inspirationflirtaion.blogspot.com
As a child I was running through the house at my grandparents when they lived on a farm in Pennsylvania. It was I who required stitches. In case the type is too small, it reads:
Stitches
Running through the house,
Piano bench does not move,
The child requires stitches.

Valentine Seeds

This valentine was created in response to the valentine
"seed" challenge on
Inspiration Flirtation.
It's not your grandmother's valentine.
It was made by weaving yellow and gold yarns in the wire
heart shaped frame. It was then embellished with red beads.
It was difficult to photograph.

Ice Cream

I thought I would do one more "Ice" project.
I limited myself to what I had in a box at hand, no getting up to look for anything else.

Icy Hybiscus

Another ice "seed".
This is a kaleidoscope created in Photo Shop using a photo of pink hibiscus growing on the deck in the summer.

Ice Cinquain

A cinquain is a simple poem containing 5 lines of verse.
The first line is a one word title, (this must be a noun)
The second line is a two-word phrase realting to the subject,
The third line is three adjectives describing the subject,
The fourth line is a four-word phrase related to the subject, and
The fifth line is a one-word synonym for the title.

This cinquain was created to participate in my daughter's "seed" challenge, the seed being ice.
The photo was taken on the Maine coast in February.

Creating My Blog

I had planned to create a blog for my "art", just not quite this soon. But my daughter created "Inspiration Flirtation", and posted a "seed", an art challenge, and I wanted to participate, so my blog came into being a little sooner than anticipated. I will refine it as time goes on and my blogging skills improve.

Welcome to Mary's Melange
Melange - odds and ends, a motley assortment of things, a collection containing a variety of miscellaneous things, a mix of different colors of yarn knit together to create a heathered effect.
